My experiences at MUSC Health as a student and an intern have been exceptional. Some of my favorite classes since beginning the Master of Health Administration program have included "Health Care Delivery Systems", "Health Information Systems", and "Quality in Healthcare." I have been given the opportunity to serve on student government on behalf of the College of Health Professionals for the greater MUSC SGA as well as the representative for my Master of Health Administration cohort. Most recently I took the Alumni Relations Representative for the College of Health Professions. I participated in the First Year Ohio State Wexner Medical Center Case Competition this past spring, where I was challenged to work with two other teammates to solve a case and provide strategic recommendations to remedy the issue presented in a very short time frame. I have also interned within the Health System in various capacities. I did a rotational internship where I shadowed Chief Operations Officers to Med/Surge Nursing Managers and Transport Services. This lead to an internship in operations where I gained experience creating business proforma's, hospitalist staffing and manpower projects, and more. My most intensive internship was with the Strategic Services Department at MUSC. I worked on several of the following projects:
- Certificate of Need (CON) Updates and Writing
- Heart and Vascular Market Intelligence
- Market Data and Service Line Analysis
- Strategic Backfill and Facility Spacing Projects
- Entity Wide Strategic Plan Updating and Key Metrics of Success Monitoring
- Market Forecasting
- Competitive Asset Mapping
