Experience

This summer I am interning for Atrium Health Strategic Services Group (SSG). SSG functions to develop and deploy strategy across the entire entity, business development, facility and capital planning, regulatory planning and development, project management, innovation, and business analytics. This department created the over strategic plan, "Destination 2020" which focuses on three domains; Value, Affordability and Growth. Throughout my internship experience I have been exposed to all three of these domains in varying capacities. Prior to beginning this internship I set several objectives which include:

  • Critical Thinking: Continue to develop my critical thinking skills through the deployment of the Atrium Health Strategic Plan, and more specifically in the domains of Growth, Value, and Affordability.

  • Presentation skills: Develop presenting skills which includes story boarding, analyzing data to make meaningful use out of it, designing the information collected into a presentation and then effectively communicating that story.

  • Networking: Honing the ability to connect with people and build rapport in a short time frame during my internship. Create long lasting relationships that develop into mentor-ships as well as network with other interns and students.

  • Perspective: Gain exposure into the 7th largest health system in the country and broaden my strategic planning experience for a wider perspective.

So far this summer I have been plugged in to a wide variety of projects. The image to the right is from shadowing the Mobile Medicine and getting a tour of their airplane hangars and helicopter. Please click on the images below to learn more about each project.
